Water Safety & High-Visibility Swimwear | Our Color Philosophy
Share
At our store, we believe that "Saying Yes to New Adventures" means being prepared for them. That's why our baby and toddler collections feature bold, neon yellow tie-dye patterns. While we love a classic teal for adults, the science for little ones is clear: visibility saves lives.
The Science of "Disappearing" Colors
In aquatic environments, water absorbs light differently than air. Muted tones like blue, grey, and even some greens blend into the water or look like debris on the bottom.
The Neon Advantage
Neon yellow provides the highest possible contrast against both blue pool water and murky lake water. It remains visible even when the water is agitated by splashing or waves.
Every Second Counts
In an emergency, a child in high-visibility clothing can be identified by a "Water Watcher" or lifeguard up to three times faster than a child in darker colors.
Tips for a Safe Adventure
- Take a Photo: Before the fun starts, take a quick photo of your child in their swimsuit so you have an accurate image to show others if you're ever separated in a crowd.
- Assign a Water Watcher: Designate one adult whose only job is to watch the swimmers—no phones, no books, just eyes on the water.
- Choose Bright: When in doubt, go for the "loudest" color on the rack.
